Fed: Mobile text message boom expected on Valentine's Day
Telstra is hoping more than three million love-struck mobile phone users will sendtext messages as they celebrate Valentine's Day today.
More than 11 million Australians have mobile phones, and text messages -- or SMS --are becoming increasingly popular.
Some carriers reported growth of up to 1,000 per cent last year.
Telstra said 2.5 million people sent text messages on Valentine's Day last year, andthis year the number was expected to top three million.
