I don't suspect that the Orchard Tavern & Restaurant is on the radar of the National Registry of Historic Places. It probably hasn't been around long enough to qualify and it certainly doesn't look quaint enough to pique that organization's interest.
But if the men and women concerned with preserving Albany's past have any sense, they'll put a marker outside this otherwise unremarkable squat, brick building across from the Freihofer's plant on North Manning Boulevard.
