Vic: Total fire ban issued for parts of Victoria
A total fire ban takes effect in parts of Victoria today.
The Country Fire Authority says lighting fires in the open is banned in the north eastern
and central districts.
Areas affected include Melbourne .. Ballarat .. Greater Geelong .. Greater Shepparton
and Wangaratta.
The ban .. which began at midnight .. runs for 24 hours.
