WA: Father warns after skimmer-box incidents - check your pools
The father of a three-year-old girl whose bowel was perforated after she sat on a swimmingpool skimmer box at the weekend has urged householders to check and fix home pools.
TAYLAH READ is today in a stable condition in Perth's Princess Margaret Hospital.
BOB READ says his daughter sat on the box, which he says resembled a potty, and wassucked into it by the pool's vacuum pump.
Her accident followed a similar skimmer-box incident at the weekend.
A six-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with the box attached to her arm, afterrescue crews had to remove the box from the pool wall.
The Saturday incidents came the day after a 13-year-old girl died in Queensland, fivedays after her ponytail became caught in a spa filter at a Noosa resort, pulling her underwater.
